Facebook launches new Notifications API in beta for developers, warns against spamming

Following yesterday's Graph API updates, Facebook has just launched a new Notifications API in beta for developers. More than anything else, this new API brings unprecedented potential for apps and services to connect directly with users. Simultaneously, it also opens up the door for abuse, as the social giant's notifications are already being flooded with internal activity.
