Former Apple employees working on Facebook's faster iPhone app, launching within a 'couple of months'

In late June, the New York Times reported that Facebook is working on re-writing the fundamental architecture of its iOS application in order to provide users with a faster, more reliable experience. The current Facebook app is often slow because it is built with an Objective-C shell with content being fed in through an embedded web browser known as a "web-view."
