The widely-watched University of Michigan consumer-sentiment index, which tracks how people feel about their current economic situation, may soon have competition - from a mobile app. Pageonce, a four-year-old smartphone, tablet and PC program that lets people pay bills and track their finances, has become the latest tool used by economists from Michigan and theUniversity of California, Berkeley to predict how ordinary Americans are faring, in real time.
