Why Did You Join Twitter?

In early 2009, I was in a journalism class back at ol' Mizzou. The professor asked who in the lecture was using Twitter. A paltry two or three students of the 150 budding Bernsteins raised their hands. She declared that that number must be multiplied exponentially, and required us all to make accounts.
